Developer Avanton partner with Como London to launch the first real-time web-based 3D apartment finder

Developer Avanton has partnered with creative technology studio Como London to launch the first real-time, web-based 3D apartment finder, as the latest step in innovative marketing for their flagship development Coda in Battersea.

The Avanton X Como London partnership pioneers new technology, which operates like online shopping for an apartment, helping buyers around the world to search for and compare apartments available at the development. Coda is a striking £120 million development in Battersea which has proven very popular, it was the best-selling scheme in South West London of 2020. The scheme is now 85% sold overall, and buyers can move in to their new home to enjoy the lifestyle on offer.

The sophisticated virtual 3D model allows users to explore every home at Coda, the floorplans and accompanying Matterport video tours, as well as the residents’ amenities and landscaped gardens. Select elements of the surrounding Battersea area are also mapped out, showing how close Coda is to Plantation Wharf, the River Thames and The Thames Clippers.

Buyers will be able to add different apartments to a shopping basket and save them as Favourites. This list can be exported and shared in a simple link, for instance if a buyer wants to ask their parents, friends or investment advisors for an opinion on the homes, or shared to social media. Buyers can book an appointment with Avanton’s in-house sales team directly through the virtual tour. Como London reveals the virtual web app tour can also be shared with a QR code, which could be added to hoardings, brochures and printed marketing material, a versatile tool.

Alongside the web app version, Avanton X Como London are releasing a fun augmented reality app which will be available on the App Store and Google Play for download. Users will be able to view the Coda model to learn more about the homes, superimposing the virtual 3D model into any room or space using their device’s camera. The user can then visit the web app for the full virtual tour.

Founded last year, Como London is a creative technology studio that specialises in interactive brand experiences. The Avanton X Como London partnership is being used to launch the technology and showcase it for the first time after months of work to refine and finalise the virtual model.

Como London reveals that standard web-based 3D models rely on pre-rendered information which is very limited for the end-user, whereas this real-time virtual model allows users to see any apartment at Coda and search for apartment types. The web app will be used by Avanton’s in-house sales team, independent sales agents, interested buyers and investment advisors. The technology is designed to work collaboratively with other property collateral, such as inputting a Matterport virtual tour or a carousel of show apartment photos.

For the developer client, the technology gives valuable insights into user activity. Avanton can see where users are from and which apartment types they view and Favourite. The sophisticated system behind the scenes also gives Avanton full control over what information is displayed, for instance programming release dates for new apartment types or only showing homes that are available.

Peter Rogers, Founder and Managing Director of Como London says: “We are delighted to launch our innovative real-time 3D apartment finder technology, using Coda to showcase the technology. Working closely with Avanton, we have sought a solution to bridge the gap between virtual and video tours and pre-rendered models that the industry has been reliant on so far. Our technology is very user friendly, with users able to ‘favourite’ different apartments to compare or send along to friends or advisors for their feedback. This niche sales tool has been designed with the sales process in mind, to benefit both the buyer and the developer. We have been inundated with requests from clients to develop virtual models for their schemes, with many seeing this as the next step for remote marketing.”

David Ronson, Sales & Marketing Director at Avanton says: “The past year and lockdown restrictions have highlighted the need for developers to have accessible, user-friendly technology to showcase their product whilst traditional marketing has been limited. Although the property industry has seen various tech solutions, the majority do not integrate well with one another, leaving both the client and end-user frustrated. We are delighted to have partnered with Como London to showcase their new virtual tour web app, which brings a new level of sophistication and collaboration to the process.

David continues, “Following the easing of restrictions, we believe this marketing tool will continue to be invaluable, meaning buyers can browse apartment types without being restricted by location or time zone. Buyers can compare apartments, watch video tours, explore residents’ amenities and Coda’s fantastic Thameside location all with the click of a button. At Avanton we are keen to always be pushing forward, championing cutting edge technology and seeking new ways to engage our buyers.”

Located on a large 2.1-acre island site between York Road and York Place, moments from the River Thames, Coda is designed by Pankaj Patel MBE of multi-award-winning practice Patel Taylor, a leader in Thameside architecture. Three striking apartment buildings sit on a raised podium above the new Royal Academy of Dance headquarters on the ground floor, with the iconic dance school set to move in 2021. Every home has a designer Poggenpohl kitchen, with open-plan living space, a private balcony or terrace and access to landscaped residents’ gardens.

Apartments at Coda start from £770,000 for a two-bedroom apartment.
