XpertHR and 20/20 Change join forces to boost young people’s job prospects

The UK’s leading online HR resource XpertHR, announces that it has partnered with renowned youth empowerment organisation 20/20 Change to help bridge the gap between education and employment.

As part of the mentorship programme, XpertHR will work with 20/20 Change to help equip young people with the tools they need to flourish in their chosen profession. This will include topics such as CV writing, interview preparation and general career advice with training provided through online virtual clinics in both group and one to one sessions.

With so much uncertainty in the air following the global pandemic the 20/20 Change programme is vital to youngsters looking to get their first step on the career ladder. Recent research found that one third of young people (34%) do not feel equipped to compete in the job market, rising to more than half (52%) among those from less affluent backgrounds.

Through XpertHR’s workplace expertise and 20/20 Change’s connection to the younger community, the partnership will help motivate young people and prepare the next generation of job hunters for the workplace.

Scott Walker, managing director at XpertHR comments on the partnership:

“We’re really proud and excited to partner with 20/20 Change on this initiative. The opportunity will enable our leading HR experts to extend their wealth of experience and insight in the job sector to young people looking to take their first steps towards their chosen profession.

“”We have long admired 20/20 Change’s work, who for many years have championed young people and helped unlock their full potential. This is a fantastic programme and we are grateful to be able to support them in their mission to put young people on the right path.”

Duro Oye, founder and CEO of 20/20 Change notes:
“XpertHR recognise the importance of young people and the role they have in the future of the workplace. Our mentorship programme will benefit those in search of their first job, empowering them with those vital skills and insights that they may not have been taught in school.

“This partnership will go a long way to helping us achieve our goal of ensuring young people transition from education to employment smoothly, and put these individuals in good stead to go on and have successful and prosperous careers.”
