Officers appealing for information relating to violent disorder in Openshaw

Investigators are appealing for witnesses to come forward following a violent disorder on Lower Openshaw, South Street.

The incident occurred at approximately 12:50pm on Monday 28 September.

Officers attended and found a large group of youths, many wearing balaclavas. A number of weapons, including knives, bats and machetes, were reported to have been used in the incident.

Two people were taken to hospital. One suffering significant, but not life-threatening injuries.

Ten people who were arrested on suspicion of assault have all been bailed with conditions.

Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances of the incident and investigators are now seeking witnesses to come forward.

Anyone who saw the moments leading up to the incident, or has any information, CCTV, mobile phone footage or dashcam footage is asked to contact police on 101 quoting log 1526 of 28/09/26.
