Officers are appealing for information after two men suffered serious injuries in a suspected robbery in Atherton yesterday.
At around 2.15pm, it is believed that the two men – aged 18 and 20 – had their e-bikes taken from them by a group on Millers Lane.
The 20-year old has a serious injury, which is not believed to be life-threatening or life-changing. The other man, 18, remains in a critical condition in hospital.
Extensive enquiries are ongoing and officers are in the area as they continue to investigate the incident.
No arrests have been made and officers are asking for anyone who has information or witnessed the incident to come forward, as they continue to establish the full circumstances.
This includes anyone with CCTV, dashcam, or mobile phone footage from the area at the time.
Detective Inspector Kathryn Tyldesley, from GMP’s Wigan district, said: “We are still piecing together the exact timeline of events to determine what occurred, and appreciate the concern that this incident will cause.
“Ultimately, two men have suffered serious injuries, and we are doing all we can to establish the facts and ensure all appropriate actions are taken.
“If anyone has any information, I would urge them to come forward, as your assistance could greatly benefit our ongoing work.”
