Young lawyer wins national award
A lawyer from Fletchers Solicitors has been named as the winner of a national award that recognises outstanding talent in the industry.
Gemma Roberts was named Young Achiever of the Year at the Personal Injury Awards 2021. The award celebrates the achievements of talented professionals in the personal injury sector who are under the age of 30.
Gemma, a catastrophic injury solicitor, was delighted to be named as the winner of the award at the prestigious ceremony in Leeds earlier this week.
Double win for Fletchers
Fletchers was also named as Clinical Negligence Team of the Year at the same event.
Judges were impressed by Gemma’s experience of handling high value, complex cases at such a young age and described her as a star of the future.
Gemma has spent her legal career at Fletchers, joining the firm in 2015. She works on high value and complex cases with clients who have suffered injuries including traumatic brain injury, amputation, paraplegia, complex orthopaedic, nerve damage and fatalities.
Gemma is involved with her clients’ lives when they are at their most vulnerable and she develops close and trusted relationships with clients and their families.
Gemma said: “I am delighted to have won the award! A big thank you goes to Fletchers who have supported me throughout my career so far. It was a real honour even to be shortlisted amongst such talented lawyers from across the country, so it was incredible to be named as the winner.
“It is such an honour to get to know the families that we deal with, and to be let into their lives, and trusted, at such a difficult time. The driving force for me to succeed is to get the best possible result for the clients who have put their trust in me.
“I am excited for what lies ahead in my career and very honoured to have received this award.”
Andrew Clark, Director of Personal Injury at Fletchers, said: “Gemma’s recognition at the PI Awards is truly deserved and I am glad the Judges came to the same conclusion that I’ve had for a number of years, that Gemma is an exceptional talent with a fantastic career ahead of her.
“I am really looking forward to seeing how Gemma’s career progresses from here.”
