CHRISTMAS 2021: ONLINE SALES SKYROCKET WHILE CUSTOMER SERVICE DROPS

A recent study by Citizen’s Advice (CA) has found that many of the U.K.’s top delivery firms are failing to deliver on customer satisfaction.

According to the report, online sales are skyrocketing, and many providers are struggling to keep up with soaring demand in the sector, resulting in delays and poor customer service across the board.

This dramatic fall in customer service ratings has been attributed to a lack of staffing, as brands are being overwhelmed by home delivery requests, which is having a knock on effect on delivery standards, causing a high volume of negative reviews.

Where other brands are struggling, national same day courier service Speedy Freight has sprinted ahead, achieving great success despite the challenges of the pandemic.

Speedy Freight has had an excellent year for customer service rates, maintaining a 4.9-star rating on Trustpilot despite the impact of Brexit and constant disruption to UK supply chains caused by COVID-19.

Thanks to the brand’s adaptability and commitment to offer bespoke logistics solutions for clients of all shapes and sizes, Speedy Freight has recently been awarded Road Freight Operator of the year at the 2021 Multimodal Awards.

What’s more, over the last 12 months Speedy Freight has continued its rapid expansion, reporting a 100% increase in demand in the second half of this year versus the same period in 2020, now servicing over 8,500 customers and delivering to every postcode in the UK.

Operations Director, John Munnelly said: “The last year has been incredibly tough for the industry, but we’re committed to maintaining our high standards even in the middle of a pandemic.

“Thanks to our nimble and scalable approach to logistics solutions, we’ve been able to expand rapidly over the last year without sacrificing customer service, as evidenced by our fantastic Trustpilot rating.

“Given the recent emergence of the new Omicron variant of COVID-19, it’s not unlikely more restrictions are on the way. Lockdown places an incredible strain on supply chains across the UK so as we enter 2022, Speedy Freight is prepped and ready to support a wide range of industries and keep the country moving in the new year.”

As well as preparing for the challenges of a potential lockdown, Speedy Freight is continuing expansion both in the UK and in Europe, as well as readying clients for new import restrictions in 2022 due to Brexit.
