With Breaking Open the Boxes garnering unanimous praise as a thought-provoking and immensely practical resource, business leaders, consultants, and creative thinkers alike are embracing the book’s ability to reveal new paths for leadership, decision-making, and personal growth. With its remarkable explanation of the capacity to blend left- and right-brain thinking setting this book apart, readers are also appreciating the hands-on, practical tools provided by the authors, as well as being challenged to rethink ingrained assumptions. Breaking Open the Boxes is a rare achievement: a book that combines intellectual rigor with engaging, actionable advice. From personal growth to strategic business decisions, Munro and Bolton’s fresh perspective invites readers to break free from old paradigms and lead with clarity and confidence. Author Robert Bolton says: “Our book isn’t just about the 100 quadrants, although they bring much insight, sometimes on quite controversial topics such as whistleblowing and leadership team cover-ups. “The style is intentionally quite quirky and edgy. Providing the history to the quadrant and we also introduce the reader to what we term Grid Thinking. This is a way to tackle dilemmas beyond those in the book. Grid 101 draws on the groundbreaking research of Ian McGilchrist on ways of attending, and a way to recognise and integrate left and right brain patterns of thinking and deciding. Our grid thinking advice can apply to individuals as well as small groups wishing to tackle an issue. “The book therefore has application in both the business and academic domains. Finally, I would say that it is chock full of great quotes from the likes of Bertrand Russell, Warren Buffett, Taylor Swift, Bruce Lee and Stephen Fry. Plus many more.”
Rare and never-before-seen original photographs of Walt Disney have been unearthed and will head to the auction block at Van Eaton Galleries & Auctions. This is an unprecedented chance for collectors and Disney fans to own an exclusive look at the man behind the mouse early in his career and take ownership of original photographs never offered at auction before.
Van Eaton Galleries, the premier auction house specializing in animation art, Disneyana, and pop culture, is proud to present these incredibly rare photos of Walt Disney, many of which have notes on the reverse hand-written by Walt himself.
“These original photos are one-of-a-kind items and give us a look into the beginnings of the Walt Disney Studio, and the young Walt Disney that started it all. Nothing like this exists in private hands, as these are truly part of American pop culture history.” – Mike Van Eaton, Co-Founder of Van Eaton Galleries & Auctions.
These fantastic Walt Disney photos, including candid photos of Walt Disney on his honeymoon, were taken in the early 1920s and mailed to Walt’s friend, the legendary composer Carl Stalling, who gave Walt the idea for Silly Symphonies. They perfectly capture one of the most influential people in our history—right before he changes the world.
These lots even have rare family moments, including Walt and Roy Disney using their first movie camera in the front yard of their uncle’s house in Los Angeles, where the Disney Studio was born.
The historical artifacts are part of the estate of animation legend Bob Clampett, who was a close friend of Carl Stalling. Many other artifacts from the estate along with the rare photos will be up for auction in March of 2025.
Celebrating 30 years in business, Van Eaton Galleries & Auctions is the go-place to find pop culture memorabilia, animation art, and Disneyana. In addition to major catalog and online auctions featuring impressive exhibitions, Van Eaton runs a retail gallery featuring production drawings and collectibles that is open to the public.
