Will Smith’s Bel-Air House Increases Property Value the Most!

Uswitch.com/mortgages can reveal that the property in first place, and therefore with the biggest increase on surrounding properties, is Will Smith’s house in The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. Described as being ‘L.A. neoclassical, with a touch of Colonial and a dash of Greek Revival’, the mansion is located in Brentwood, California. The presence of this iconic TV house increases surrounding property value by a whopping 222%! This is 76% more than the sitcom Full House, which ranks fifth!

Following closely behind in second is Sex and the City’s Carrie Bradshaw’s New York apartment, in Perry Street, Manhattan. With an average house price on the street of £3.7 million, it is estimated that Carrie’s iconic apartment increases surrounding property value by 221%! Famous for its glamourous staircase, it is further suggested that Bradshaw’s home might be included in the upcoming reboot.

Completing the top three is the emblematic flat from Friends, where every member of the main six has lived in at least one point during the series’ 10-year run. Also in New York, and only a 30-minute walk from Perry Street, the flat is estimated to have increased surrounding property value by 100%!

American Horror Story: Muder House’s Rosenheim Mansion Ranks 10th

In eighth place is the home of Lord and Lady Carnarvon, Highclere Castle in Newbury. The sprawling property and grounds were used as the iconic backdrop for Downton Abbey, which starred the likes of Dame Maggie Smith and Dan Stevens. Properties in the area are estimated to average around £589,251, resulting in an increase of 9%.

In ninth place is Albuquerque, New Mexico’s Breaking Bad spin-off Better Call Saul house, which has increased neighbouring property values by approximately 8%. A small community of 31 apartments called ‘The Diamonds’, this property was used as the house front for Saul’s (played by Bob Odenkirk) Omaha home.

The TV show property that has increased surrounding property values the least is the ‘Murder House’ from American Horror Story: Murder House – or as it’s known to locals, the Rosenheim Mansion. The property has been featured in hundreds of TV shows, movies, and commercials, from scenes in Buffy the Vampire Slayer to Dexter to The X-Files.
