Week to go until LandAid’s biggest ever SleepOut in Manchester

There is just over one week to go until property professionals in Manchester brave one night outside and SleepOut to raise money to help end youth homelessness.

LandAid, the property industry charity, is calling on 1,000 property professionals across the country to brave one night outside in their biggest SleepOut event yet on Thursday 10 March to raise over £500,000 and help prevent young people having to do the same, every night.

The Manchester SleepOut will take place at the Depot Mayfield and is one of six different locations across the country taking part, including London, Birmingham, Leeds, Cambridge and Bristol.

Each participant is asked to raise over £166 – the cost of funding a bed space for a month – and every penny raised will take LandAid one step closer towards its mission of ending youth homelessness, for good.

There is still time to register for the LandAid SleepOut in Manchester here: https://join.landaid.org/event/sleepout/location-Manchester.

Wide support has already been shown across the industry for the LandAid SleepOut 2022 from headline sponsor, Knight Frank, alongside regional sponsor Landsec in Manchester.

Each region will help fund a local project that will make a huge difference to the community. The Manchester SleepOut will go towards supporting Depaul NightStop, a unique project which relies on community hosting to provide a safe, welcoming place for young homeless people in crisis. On the night, participants will be hearing from Depaul’s to find out more about where their money is going and how it’s being used.

Paul Morrish, Chief Executive of LandAid, said: “We are really looking forward to this year’s Manchester SleepOut to help raise vital funds to help end youth homelessness.

“Sadly, the numbers of young people experiencing homelessness in the UK has gone through the roof, with a 40% rise in the last five years. More and more young people increasingly find themselves sleeping rough, and that cannot be right.

“So far over 650 property professionals have signed up to SleepOut for LandAid either in person at one of our six locations, or virtually to raise money to end youth homelessness.

“If you are involved in property and real estate in any way, and you haven’t yet signed up, then please do so.”
