MakeHampers are hiring a Chief Christmas Hamper Tester to eat, drink and rate five festive hampers worth over £300. Applicants must enjoy cheese, wine, and being brutally honest.
One lucky Brit is set to land the tastiest job of the festive season after one of the UK’s leading hamper companies, MakeHampers.com, announced it will pay £100 for a Chief Christmas Hamper Tester to taste-test their way through five of its Christmas hampers.
The successful candidate will have the hampers delivered to their door, ranging from a £35 three cheese box to a £120 wicker basket filled with decadent goodies. Applications are now open until 13th November 2026 for the Christmas Hamper role at MakeHampers.
The role requires no CV, interview panel, or Zoom calls – applicants merely need to fill out a short form stating who they are and why they’d be perfect for the position.
The tester will score each hamper across six categories, ranging from practical questions to personal ones.
The MakeHampers Scorecard
Presentation & unboxing: Does it make you go “ooh” when the lid comes off?
Taste test: Does every item earn its place, or is there filler?
Value for money: Worth the price tag once it’s all on the table?
The In-Law Test: Would it impress the fussiest person on your Christmas list?
Regift Risk: How likely is it the person you give it to will regift it?
Secret Santa Safe: Would it go down well, from the office junior to the boss?
The verdicts will be published in early December in MakeHampers official Christmas Gift Guide in time to help shoppers for the festive rush.
Jay Broughton, Managing Director at MakeHampers, said: “We’ve tried and tested so many hampers over the years we’ve gone a bit Christmas hamper blind, so we’re looking for someone to give us some honest feedback on a range of hampers to help us refine our selection.
“We’ve made it super easy, so the applicant could knock out the ratings in one sitting, but with all the cheese, chocolate and wine on offer, we’d advise them not to over-indulge in one go.
“Sadly, we aren’t able to make the role permanent just yet, but we thought it might be a nice little bit of pre-Christmas indulgence for someone!”
