Warfield Parish Council Celebrates 125th Anniversary At Woodhurst Park

Warfield Parish Council has celebrated its 125th anniversary this week with the installation of a commemorative bench at local housebuilder Berkeley Homes’ Woodhurst Park development on Harvest Ride. The bench, created by local craftsman Antoni Ross, was installed during a celebratory event at the development, which was attended by local Councillors and representatives from Berkeley Homes.

Hand engraved with a carving of a wren, the bench was created using sustainably sourced wood from an oak tree that that fell in a storm in 2013, just three kilometers from Woodhurst Park. It was unveiled by representatives from the Parish Council, including Councillor Gareth Barnard, Chair of Warfield Parish Council, and a number of local Councillors, at its new location overlooking the River Cut at Woodhurst Park. Senior representatives from Berkeley Homes were also in attendance, including Deana Everingham, Regional Sales and Marketing Director, and Caroline McHardy, Land and Development Director.

Councillor Claire Wallen, Whitegrove Ward representative at Warfield Parish Council, comments: “The Parish Council has been serving Warfield and its surrounding area since 1894, a milestone worthy of celebration, and a timely opportunity to reflect on the past and look ahead to the future. The bench will provide a lasting tribute, which will be used by Warfield residents for years to come. We’d like to thank the community for their support through the years, and Berkeley Homes for allowing us to install the bench in their beautiful parkland.”

Deana Everingham, Regional Sales and Marketing Director at Berkeley Homes (Oxford & Chiltern) added: “We are proud to work with Warfield Parish Council to celebrate 125 years of service in Warfield. Demonstrating the strength of our longstanding partnership, we are honoured to provide a home for the commemorative bench at Woodhurst Park. The bench acts as a symbol of pride in our community and we hope that it will be used by our residents as they take a moment to enjoy the nature that surrounds them here.”

The visit also offered an opportunity for the Councillors to find out more about the award-winning development at Woodhurst Park, where the site team is building the latest phase of homes, which incorporate a range of sustainability measures including high levels of insulation, low energy lighting, water efficient taps and efficient heating systems.

Berkeley’s Woodhurst Park currently offers four and five-bedroom homes, with prices starting from £760,000 for a four-bedroom home. For more information on the homes available and future phrases at the development, please call 01344 981691 to arrange an appointment or visit www.woodhurstpark.co.uk.
