THE YORK DUNGEON IS UNDER A SPELL THIS SPOOKY SEASON

The York Dungeons are set to offer a truly terrifying experience this October, as the entire (in)famous attraction has been hexed by one of its wicked residents in the dungeon’s new experience ‘HEX THE DUNGEON’. Read on if you dare…

Renowned for offering visitors a thrilling journey back in time of York’s past, the UK’s most haunted city is about to get a whole lot darker with the arrival of Isabella Billington.

Standing in Clifford’s Tower, the holding area before the first show, all is not as it seems as one of York’s most infamous inhabitants – known for violent crimes in the 1600s – claims to have cursed the dungeon tour.

Guests will then go on to face the frightful nine live actor shows normally on offer at York Dungeons, but with a twist, as Miss Billington brings her dim and distant past to the present, weaving in her wicked ways with a revolting reveal at the end!

The harrowing Halloween hex runs Saturday 1st October – Sunday 31st October, with scarier versions of the show on offer throughout the month, as the countdown begins to the most horrifying holiday of the year.

Mark Mattinson, General Manager of York Dungeon, said: “As its Halloween, it’s only right that York’s spookiest attraction becomes even more frightening. Isabella Billington is one of the city’s most fearful characters, so we had to make her centre stage in our new Halloween specials this month. We are renowned for our scary shows, but this is something completely different and we can’t wait to hear the screams of our guests echo throughout the dungeon’s walls.”

The HEX THE DUNGEON shows will be running from October 1st – 31st 2021, with late showings being held for all the daredevils out there, see timings below:
Saturday 2nd, 9th, and 16th October – 7pm to 8pm
Friday 22nd – Saturday 23rd October – 7pm to 8pm
Friday 29th – Saturday 30th October – 7:30pm to 9pm
