A Manchester-based environmental consultancy is calling on the city’s most dedicated conservation champions to be part of an exclusive VIP event marking a major new international nature partnership.

Deansgate-based B Corp four-day week firm, Tyler Grange, is inviting nominations for a pair of guests to attend a special launch evening on Tuesday 5th May, in Manchester city centre. The event celebrates its new ecological partnership with Chester Zoo and Malagasy biodiversity organisation, Madagasikara Voakajy (MV).

The collaboration and donation will fund two community plant nurseries in Madagascar’s Mangabe Reserve – supporting forest restoration, sustainable agriculture, and local livelihoods.

The initiative is expected to restore 20 hectares of land and support more than 6,800 people who rely on the forest. It will also help protect Madagascar’s unique wildlife, with around 90% of species found nowhere else on Earth.

Jon Berry, co-founder and managing director of Tyler Grange, said: “Manchester has a proud but often overlooked history of environmental activism. We want to recognise the people carrying that spirit forward – those making a difference for nature in their communities – and invite them to be part of this exciting moment.”

“Our partnership with Chester Zoo and Madagasikara Voakajy supports real, on-the-ground conservation. This event is about sharing that story and celebrating people here, in Manchester and across the region, who care as deeply about the natural world as we do.”

Charles Wheeler, Madagascar project manager at Chester Zoo, said: “We’re looking forward to seeing this partnership deliver a measurable impact for biodiversity, communities, and climate. By protecting endangered species and habitats in Madagascar, we are actively contributing to a broader push to protect global biodiversity.”

Francia Lauréa Samoelah, communication officer for Madagasikara Voakajy, said: “The Mangabe landscape is classified as Critically Endangered. Between 2015 and 2023, more than 6,100 hectares of forest were lost – over 22% of its total area. At current rates, key ecological functions could vanish within three years, and the forest may disappear entirely within a decade. We must come together to act now to protect its future, and that of the thousands of people who depend upon it.”

The invite-only event will take place at HOME Manchester from 6pm until 9pm on Tuesday 5th May, featuring speakers from both partner organisations – including Chester Zoo’s Madagascar Project Manager, Charles Wheeler and Executive Director of Madagasikara Voakajy, Julie Hanta Razafimanahaka – who will share insights into their conservation efforts.

A pair of launch tickets and a Chester Zoo day ticket for a family of four is available to win. To enter, nominees must submit a short statement (up to 100 words) explaining why they – or someone they know – deserve to attend. Entries can be submitted via email at hello@tylergrange.co.uk or through Instagram. The deadline is midnight on Thursday 30th April 2026. Terms and conditions apply.
