Oldham local businesses are taking centre stage in a national competition aiming to shine a light on local businesses. The UK’s Favourite Local Business 2026 has £2,000 in Town & City Gift Cards to be won, such as the Oldham Gift Card.

People can nominate their favourite local business in the competition, free, by giving the name of the Oldham local business they think deserves to win and a reason. Shops, restaurants, salons, hotels, attractions and services are all eligible to be the UK’s Favourite Local Business 2026.

The UK’s Favourite Local Business which receives the most nominations in the competition will win a £1,000 Town & City Gift Card, such as the Oldham Gift Card, with one person who nominated the winner receiving a £1,000 Town & City Gift Card.

Over 70 businesses are part of the Oldham Gift Card, including big brands like Beaverbrooks, Pandora, Primark, Subway and The Perfume Shop, alongside an array of independent businesses such as Rhode Island Coffee, Bitter Sweet, The Fox and Pine and Grandpa Greene’s.

North West brand Rhode Island Coffee was recognised as one of the UK’s Favourite Local Businesses in the 2024 competition, alongside businesses from Aberdeen, Falkirk, Aberdeenshire, Ilkley and the Isle of Wight.

The Oldham Gift Card is part of the multi-award winning Town & City Gift Cards initiative. Over 27,000 local businesses are part of Miconex’s local gift card programs around the world with over £69m of cards sold to date.
