Manchester brewer, Hip Pop, to launch Gut Lovin’ Sodas in bid to reach mass market

Hip Pop, a fast-growing gut friendly drinks brand, is expanding its range to offer a natural alternative to well-known flavours.

In an exciting move to reach the mass market of consumers, Hip Pop will launch their Gut Lovin’ Soda, a prebiotic, gut friendly twist on three everyday favourites: Coca Cola, Fanta, and Sprite.

Available in three flavours – Cola, Orange, and Lemonade – each 330ml can will contain 8g of prebiotic fibre [a quarter of our daily fibre requirement] and be packed with probiotic living cultures proven to support gut health.

The vast majority of ‘zero sugar’ fizzy drinks contain artificial sweeteners or stevia. In contrast, Hip Pop’s high-fibre beverages are 100% natural, have a low sugar claim and contain zero sweeteners or caffeine.

Craft made in the UK and available from 6th March, consumers can purchase the Gut Lovin’ Sodas directly from their ecommerce site, in the North’s leading supermarket, Booths, and from 1st March via a shelf takeover in London’s popular department store, Harrods.

Emma Thackray, co-founder of Hip Pop, said: “We are extremely excited about our latest product launch, as it is something completely new for Hip Pop.

“We have always been successful with our original kombucha flavours and apple-cider vinegar infused Living Sodas. However, our Gut Lovin’ Sodas are a chance for us to expand our reach to a wider market, appealing to those who haven’t tried kombucha before and are searching for traditional flavours with added health benefits.

“Our goal has always been to create drinks that taste good and do good, and that’s why our drinks are made by qualified brewers and taste tested extensively before launch. This way, we can ensure our all-natural Gut Lovin’ sodas are caffeine free, high-fibre, and packed with prebiotics and probiotics to support a healthy gut.

“Most importantly, we do not use sweeteners, which, apart from leaving a strange after taste, have been shown in studies to affect the balance of the microbiome.”

Based in a brewery in Manchester, Hip Pop now employs a growing team of 14. In the last 12 months, the brand has reached the global market, with cans stocked in 42 of 50 US states, and orders shipped to Dubai, Oman, Vietnam, Hong Kong, and Abu Dhabi.

Hip Pop have received several industry accolades, including two stars at the Great Taste Awards, and title of Independent Drinks Producer of the Year at the 2022 Manchester Food & Drinks Awards.
