From building 700 web pages in one weekend to founding world’s first digital leaflet platform

A London entrepreneur has spoken of the journey that led him to create the world’s first digital leaflet distribution platform.

Allen Strong, originally from Lebanon, founded Pixidium 19 years after coming to the UK.

“When I arrived in the country, I had no IT experience but knew I wanted to build a future within it,” he said. “I couldn’t even work my own computer but after visiting a local computer repair shop I was taught by a small boy how to work one.

“He taught me simple things like navigating the workspace and editing and saving a document – enough so that I eventually taught myself to create a simple webpage.

“I saw the value in learning this, so I spent one weekend creating more than 700 web pages – learning every small nuance and trick to building one that people could enjoy.”

Having reached an extremely high skill level with writing web pages, Allen was out riding his bike one day when he overheard a conversation between two strangers who wanted a website built quickly. He introduced himself to the strangers and negotiated for him to build a website in a quick turnaround.

“I discovered I had the drive to be able to create a website quickly,” he said. “I decided I was going to change the world with this ethic and in 2003 I joined a digital publishing solution.

“I worked through the ranks and, years after joining, I helped sell it to an American company for millions.

“After this, I realised I wanted to make something different and unique that would capture the mood of the public – putting my skills to use in a more widely beneficial way.”

In 2019, Pixidium was born, a platform for digital leaflet promotions that work for both businesses and individuals.

“Cutting trees for paper production leads the way in climate decline,” Allen said. “Traditional leaflet distribution is not sustainable, so we created this method to ensure your promotional method is completely eco-conscious.

“Whether you’re an influencer or a restaurant chain, you can execute whole campaigns knowing you haven’t had to chop down a single tree for it to happen. It all works in synergy with technology.

“Customers who use our service only pay for distribution – there are no print fees, delivery fees, distribution fees, waste fees, pollution fees. This has proved especially popular with those who promote artists and events. One takeaway establishment we’re working with was paying £800 a month in Just Eat and Uber Delivery promotion – now they’re paying a fraction of that for a wide reach.

“On top of this, Pixidium have took it on ourselves to help reduce unemployment rates in the UK by at least 5% year-on-year nationwide, bringing into the fold around 1,463 ambassadors per month and gradually duplicating the process worldwide to dramatically improve our economy.”
