DOMESTIC ABUSE CHARITY SUPPORTED BY AMAZON TEAM

A domestic abuse charity in Stockport has received a £1,000 donation from the Amazon fulfilment centre in Manchester.

Stockport Without Abuse offers a range of services to women, men and children who are affected by domestic abuse. The charity aims to combat domestic abuse by raising awareness, creating a safe space for individuals affected and their families and providing empowerment sessions that help victims regain lifelong independence.

The donation will go towards providing individualised care packages to families fleeing from domestic abuse. This could include toiletries and essential items, and settling in packs which include soft toys for children.

Speaking on the donation, Ian Jackson, General Manager at the Amazon fulfilment centre in Manchester, said:

“Stockport Without Abuse is such an important charity that offers invaluable support to those who have been affected by domestic abuse. We wanted to acknowledge and encourage its efforts with this donation and hope it benefits the team and those in need.”

Gabriella Toniolo, Senior Operations Manager at the Amazon fulfilment centre in Manchester, added:

“It’s fantastic to see the team at Amazon donating to Stockport Without Abuse. The charity really deserves this recognition as it provides such valuable service for people in the community who have suffered domestic abuse.”

Samantha Higginbottom, CEO of Stockport Without Abuse, said:

“On behalf of myself and the team at Stockport Without Abuse, we would like to say a massive thank you to Ian and the Amazon team in Manchester. This donation will be of great benefit to the families and the many important services we offer.”

Stockport Without Abuse received the donation as part of Amazon’s programme to support the communities in and around its operating locations across the UK.

The company provides students with online STEM courses and has teamed up with charity partner Magic Breakfast to deliver more than six million healthy breakfasts to children at risk of hunger in disadvantaged areas across the UK.
