Allesley – the new global leader in ultra-luxury automotive coachbuilding

Today marks the launch of an all-new British luxury brand, set to become the paragon of automotive coachbuilding – Allesley.

Bringing to life the most exclusive ultra-luxury cars, distinguished by exquisite design and unparalleled quality, for a clientele ranging from OEMs to ultra-high-net-worth private individuals, Allesley will become the custodian of coachbuilding globally.

Based in the historic home of coachbuilding, Coventry, where bespoke car design dates to the early 20th century, Allesley channels decades of heritage and expertise to focus on a resurgence of interest in unique custom-made, personalised vehicles.

Supporting elite brands seeking to further elevate their product offerings to the top one per cent of their customer base, and private individuals keen to add to their collections and realise their ultimate dream cars, Allesley will create remarkable commissions that set new standards for luxury and design.

Driven by a highly experienced design, engineering, and production team, all of whom have spent decades in-house at the world’s leading luxury automotive brands, Allesley combines traditional handcrafting coachbuilding skills with contemporary digital and virtual design to deliver impeccable and repeatable manufacturing quality.

Paul Abercrombie, CEO of Allesley, commented: “At Allesley, we’re taking the art of coachbuilding to new heights by commissioning the world’s finest cars, and raising the bar for design and craftsmanship. We are passionate about pushing the boundaries of innovation while preserving the traditional methods of our craft.

“Allesley will realise the pinnacle in ultra-luxurious, ultra-exclusive vehicles, designed, engineered, and manufactured to the highest possible standards in the historical home of coachbuilding – Coventry. Our innately British luxury brand will transcend all existing standards for bespoke car inception, elevating design, technology, and creativity to new heights for a discerning global customer base.”

A new brand born from decades of bespoke vehicle expertise

Based in a dedicated location on the same 1930s Art Deco site as partner HPL Prototypes (HPL), Allesley draws on the consummate skill set of the leading automotive concept car and prototype builder.

Tracing its roots back to the Fifties and Sixties and founded a quarter of a century ago, HPL is steeped in rich automotive coachbuilding culture and has supported the design and manufacture of some of the world’s most memorable and state-of-the-art concept and prototype cars for a roster of global OEMs.

Chris Devane, CEO of HPL Prototypes, said: “HPL’s reputation in supporting OEMs in the realisation of their project vision through bespoke concept design and prototyping is exemplary. However, HPL has – and always will – offer a solely commercial service. We have deliberately flown ‘under the radar’, majoring on confidentiality, because that is what our automotive OEM clients require.

“As we celebrate our 25th year, the time is right to launch Allesley. This remarkable and exciting new brand will draw on our world-leading expertise, and with a dedicated new team, bring to life bespoke vehicles for a new audience.”

With HPL continuing to serve the automotive industry on a purely commercial basis, Allesley will operate as a separate – but technologically linked – brand, able to call on HPL’s unrivalled expertise, including cutting-edge CAD design studios offering state-of-the-art modelling, milling, trim and paint shops, combined with a carbon fibre centre and OEM-level customer conceptualisation and experience suite.

The unparalleled skill set that exists within Allesley will then be focused on pushing the coachbuilding envelope for two distinct audiences: automotive manufacturers and private individuals, customers who require the finest in coachbuilding services.

The go-to coachbuilder for luxury OEMs

For the world’s leading luxury automotive brands, Allesley offers the ultimate coachbuilding service, combining peerless hand building skills and the latest digital techniques paired with, crucially, the ability to work to OEM-grade gateway processes and timescales. It is this unique expertise that means Allesley will become the go-to coachbuilder of low-volume production runs, or even complete one-offs, of ultra-prestigious vehicles for the world’s leading car luxury car makers.

The ultimate in private commissions

For ultra-high-net-worth-individuals (UHNWI), Allesley will work with a client to translate their dream, which could simply be a sketch on a page, to a fully engineered and manufactured vehicle, creating a one-off commission that is utterly unique and personalised.

The team at Allesley believes passionately in pushing the limits of innovation while preserving the traditional coachbuilding methods with the aim of not merely creating exceptional vehicles, but also providing clients with a truly memorable experience.

Paul Abercrombie, CEO of Allesley, continues: “For OEMs, our unique strength lies in seamlessly integrating with the processes of established corporate automotive environments, coupled with our commitment to meet their specific timelines. Simply specialising in bespoke design and manufacture isn’t sufficient. What truly differentiates us is our methodical and structured approach, which not only enhances the customer relationship but also ensures that the end product thrives. Our dedication to pushing the boundaries of coachbuilding further distinguishes Allesley from others in the industry.

“For an ultra-high-net-worth-individual, it is not just our exceptional technical ability that sets Allesley apart but the quality of the customer journey. From the moment a private client engages with Allesley, the experience they receive will be exemplary. From the latest in digital showroom techniques, enabling a customer to remain immersed and engaged with their commission no matter where they are in the world, to the on-site honing and specifying of materials and paint colours, the personal service provided by the Allesley team will eclipse all existing standards.”

Allesley’s first ultra-luxury commission

The premier unveil from Allesley, an ultra-luxury SUV, will take place next year. Taking an existing world-leading luxury product, Allesley’s artisans have significantly enhanced every element of this private commission, with a new coachbuilt body and luxurious interior that take material quality, craftmanship and surprise-and-delight features to a new level.

Supported by the very best in component and material suppliers, predominantly from the UK’s indigenous supply chain, Allesley’s first bespoke commission will retain the ethos of the original, yet enhanced and re-imagined in every conceivable way.

Paul Abercrombie, CEO of Allesley, concludes: “Allesley’s first commission will redefine the standards by which bespoke vehicles are judged. It will blend
world-class precision design and manufacturing with unparalleled quality, underscoring our position as the new global leader in ultra-luxurious coachbuilding, setting the tone for what will become a growing portfolio of some of the most exclusive vehicles ever seen.”
