Dedicated runner, Andy Edwards, is lacing up for an extraordinary year‑long challenge — running 100 miles across 10 official running events to raise funds and awareness for Manchester-based Adoption Matters, the children’s charity that helps find loving families for children waiting to be adopted and offers their families ongoing support.

Andy’s journey began in March 2026 with the Chester 10k, and he’s already completed six races, clocking up over 53 miles so far.

Upcoming events include the Warrington Half Marathon, Manchester Half Marathon, and the Hadrian’s Wall Half Marathon, which will take him beyond the 100‑mile mark by October.

Andy commented:

“I’m running in aid of Adoption Matters because, as adopters ourselves, my wife and I know first-hand the incredible support they provide throughout the adoption journey.

“The charity helps so many families like ours and any funds raised will make a real difference to help them continue to support so many more.”

Each race — from the Tatton Trail 10k to the Manchester Trail Escape 25k — represents another step toward his goal of the charity helping children find permanent, nurturing homes.

His total challenge covers 165 kilometres (102.7 miles), a testament to his endurance and commitment to making a difference.
