Won Hundred returns to CPHFW with runway jubilee collection
Copenhagen-based fashion label, Won Hundred, returns to the CPHFW show schedule with a run- way jubilee collection titled “Surrender” – set to be unveiled during the upcoming FW24 edition. Won Hundred, marks its jubilee milestone with a comeback show for the forthcoming Fall/Winter 24 calendar at Copenhagen Fashion Week.
The collection, titled ‘Surrender,’ celebrates two decades of knowledge and inspiration since the brand’s inception in 2004. The 20-year jubilee collection signifies a transition from its denim roots and heritage into minimalist design with a strong emphasis on craftsmanship.
With more than two decades of knowledge and expertise in craftsmanship and design, founder and creative director, Nikolaj Nielsen, reflects on the journey so far leading up to this milestone:
“In recent years, we’ve taken time to understand the essence of Won Hundred and what we truly represent. A few years back, we decided the timing was right to infuse new energy into the brand. We have elevated our approach across all touchpoints. It always starts with the product – but understanding the universe around it is equally important. We decided to elevate the entire range of Won Hundred, taking a more design-driven approach towards our ready-to-wear collections,” says Nikolaj Nielsen.
“The runway collection is a nostalgic trip through our design archives, rediscovering timeless styles that I believe continue to resonate with today’s culture and style,” Nielsen elaborates. ‘Surrender’ is a manifestation of the direction that encapsulates the universe and the design-driven approach towards the future of Won Hundred.
Denim Revival: The Heart of the Collection
‘Surrender’ presents a collection of denim-centric designs that embody the brand’s authentic essense and herald its new trajectory. This collection is a testement to Won Hundred’s dedication to quality, showcasing a preference for minimalism and a commitment to timeless style. The pieces within ‘Surrender’ not only reflects the brand’s storied past but also signal its exciting future direction, bal- ancing classic influences with contemporary flair.
“Doing this runway show is a milestone that ac- knowledges our recent development as a brand and product,” says Sebastian Andersen, Commercial Director.
“Over the past years, we decided to take the brand down a new strategic path. Without being unfaithful to the DNA and roots of Won Hundred, we rethought our approach and reinforced our DNA. It’s not an overnight change, but we launched new wholesale and product strategies, seeing great interest in the improved direction of the brand. It was a daring but confident move – surprising to some. Returning to the show schedule at this stage of our journey reinforces our international ventures,” says Sebastian Andersen, Commercial Director.
