Wine and 2 Veg, the plant-based guide to wine pairing launches their second seasonal recipe collection for the Winter months
The winter season is filled with festivities but as it ushers in a new year, many of us begin to set new goals and look towards making changes for the year ahead. One of those changes might be considering a plant-based diet, so Wine and 2 Veg’s new Winter recipe collection is the perfect destination to be inspired, with a selection of easy-to-make plant-based dishes, together with suggested wine pairings.
Wine and 2 Veg is an online user-friendly guide on the art and science of wine pairing with vegetables and offers expert insights and delicious plant-based recipes from Wendy Narby, leading Bordeaux Wine Educator and author of The Drinking Woman’s Diet, and Sally Evans a respected Bordeaux winemaker and the creator of the critically acclaimed boutique winery Château George 7. The dishes all use local and easily sourced ingredients inspired by the French tradition of seasonal eating.
This collection features Wendy and Sally’s favourite wintery plant-based dishes and their suggestions for how to pair with wines to suit everyone – such as festive nibbles for the more decadent holiday period and a selection of warming dishes for the new year. There are exotic selections contributed by friends, including spicy chickpea curry and Moroccan sweet potatoes. The website also includes detailed insights on how to match the different flavour profiles of the ingredients to great and sustainable Bordeaux wine.
The Wine and 2 Veg winter recipes are designed to motivate everyone to embrace a more nourishing, holistic diet that can include great wine and make the Veganuary challenge thoroughly enjoyable.
Sally Evans, Co-Creator of Wine and 2 Veg said: “There can be a lot of pressure in January to make changes to our lifestyles which just aren’t sustainable. One great resolution is to eat more plant-based food. It is not only fantastic for your health, but also for the environment. Wine and 2 Veg is designed to help keep you motivated and inspired all while savouring delicious wine that is the perfect match.”
Wendy Narby, Co-Creator of Wine and 2 Veg, added: ” With and Wine and 2 Veg we want to share how making small changes to your daily diet and practising moderation can lead to a fun way to share a love of wine and food. Instead of dry January, let’s look at sustainable year-long healthy habits, empowering us to create healthy plant-based dishes to enjoy with friends and a lovely glass of Bordeaux.”
