Which UK city most loves a deal on theatre tickets?
It’s that time of year again, where shoppers globally hunt for bargains before Christmas in the Black Friday sales.
According to statistics, the UK’s expected spending for this year’s annual event has risen to £9.42 billion – a rise of £1.47 billion compared to 2020.
With all sorts of discounts available on and offline in the weeks leading up to the event, researchers at SeatPlan analysed which UK city has been desperately searching for cheap theatre tickets since they reopened earlier this year…
Taking the top spot, Liverpool has the highest number of searches per capita, with an average of 640 average monthly searches for terms such as ‘cheap theatre tickets’.
Home to one of the largest two-tier theatres in Britain, the northern city’s biggest venue is the 125-year-old Empire Theatre, which has played host to the likes of Frank Sinatra, The Beatles and Julie Andrews.
Liverpool’s biggest bargain hunters might be able to get their hands on deals for upcoming shows, Everybody’s Talking About Jamie, Dreamgirls and Les Misérables.
