Following their second appearance on flagship live music show, Later… with Jools Holland, performances by The Lathums of two singles lifted from their second UK Number One album, From Nothing To A Little Bit More can be relived online. Available for catch-up on both the BBC’s iPlayer and the YouTube channel, the deep-thinking four-piece’s passionate versions of the expansive and emotive songs Struggle and Say My Name remind fans what’s in store ahead of this summer’s major outdoor shows and festivals.
Appearing on the long-running TV showcase for the second time, with their maiden appearance coming in the depths of Covid isolation and lockdowns with a recording of early single, I See Your Ghost at Liverpool’s legendary, now gone Parr Street Studios, The Lathums revealed themselves on all occasions to be accomplished, primetime performers. With their second album, following 2021’s How Beautiful Life Can Be, showing signs of growth into new sonic areas, notably widescreen, piano and strings-laden epics, the band demonstrated that ambition once more in front of their TV audience.

Remaining committed to a relentless touring schedule, The Lathums hit the road as soon as their chart-topping second long-player was released, not only in the UK but also a debut European headline tour. Established as firm main stage festival favourites at home and overseas, the band look ahead to a busy summer, including making their debut at Glastonbury Festival.
All thoughts, however, remain focused on their biggest outdoor headline show, a ‘homecoming’ to perform before 8,000 people at Castlefield Bowl, Manchester on Fri 30 June 2023.
Having previously supported both Snow Patrol and DMA’s at the same landmark venue, The Lathums now get the chance to call that crowd their own and perform tracks from across their two albums beneath a summer night’s sky.
Adding in a limited number of festival dates to their summer touring plans with rumours building of a return to the studio to work on new material, all upcoming live appearances by The Lathums are as follows:
Sat 24 Jun – Glastonbury Festival
Fri 30 Jun – Manchester, Castlefield Bowl
Thu 20 – Sun 23 Jul – Oxford, Truck Festival
Thu 27 – Sun 30 Jul – Kendal, Kendal Calling
Fri 28 – Sun 30 Jul – Pikehall, Y Not Festival

Released on Island Records in March, From Nothing To A Little Bit More became The Lathums’ second Number One album in two attempts, achieving a rare feat of back-to-back successes alongside guitar band luminaries and peers such as Arctic Monkeys, The Beatles and Blossoms.
Centred around the picture book of singer and songwriter, Alex Moore’s twenty-something life of love, loss and hard-won wisdom, the band combined with producer, Jim Abiss (Adele, Arctic Monkeys, Bombay Bicycle Club) to realise an emboldened vision of the band. The results were heard in the growling, alt-rock of Say My Name and the open-hearted and unapologetically grandiose epics of Turmoil and Struggle.
The Lathums are Moore (vocals/guitar), Scott Concepcion (guitar/piano), Ryan Durrans (drums) and Matty Murphy (bass).
