WARRINGTON SOUTH MP GIVES SEAL OF APPROVAL TO AWARD-WINNING SITE MANAGER
Barratt Homes recently welcomed Member of Parliament for Warrington South, Andy Carter MP, for a development tour with its award-winning team in Appleton.
The constituency MP visited the housebuilder’s Orchard Meadows development on Braeburn Drive to congratulate Site Manager, Craig Hancock, who won a Seal of Excellence award from the National House Building Council (NHBC) for his work on the development and the high standards set.
During the tour of the development, Andy was given an insight into the properties under construction as Craig led a walk of the site, accompanied by Managing Director, Rhys Nicholson.
Andy Carter MP said: “It was really great meet with Craig to hear about the modern ways of building homes and to add my congratulations for his much-deserved award win from the National House Building Council. It’s an award that recognises excellence in all the crucial criteria that result in safe and sustainable housing sites like this one.
“It’s important that his knowledge and experience is passed down to those who will make up the next generation of homebuilders, so I also want to commend Craig for all his work to share his expertise with young apprentices who are starting out in their careers across the trades.”
Orchard Meadows has been well-received by homebuyers since it initially launched in November 2020, and the 370-home community has fast become a sought-after setting for house hunters.
Accolades such as the Seal of Excellence awards rate Site Managers against key criteria such as technical expertise, health and safety, consistency, leadership and attention to detail. The awards celebrate the vital role Site Managers play in ensuring new homes are delivered on time, on safe sites and to the highest quality standards.
This year, Barratt Developments’ Site Managers have won 98 Pride in the Job Quality awards and 34 Seal of Excellence awards, more than any other housebuilder.
Now close to completion, the homes at Orchard Meadows have included a range of two, three and four bedroom properties, 111 of which were allocated for affordable housing.
Rhys Nicholson said: “We were delighted to welcome Andy to our Orchard Meadows development to provide the opportunity to view the ongoing works and introduce him to Craig, one of our award-winning Site Managers.”
As part of the wider development, over £3 million has been invested in services and facilities in the area as part of the S106 agreement with Warrington Council.
Notable contributions included in the planning agreement are a £2.4 million donation towards primary and secondary education places in Appleton, as well as over £285,000 towards the upgrade and improvement of new healthcare facilities.
