Visit Christmas at Dunham Massey for a Twixmas treat
Grab a ticket while you can – that is the message if you want to experience this year’s magical illuminated trail Christmas at Dunham Massey.
Tickets are selling fast and some dates are already sold out, but there is still an opportunity to buy some great value off-peak tickets before the trail ends on Sunday, December 31.
The after-dark trail is the perfect place to walk off your festive feast with friends and family, enjoying the enchanting trail which is complemented by an evocative Christmas soundtrack.
Christmas at Dunham Massey runs until Sunday, December 31 and a limited number of off-peak tickets are still available each day from December 27. They are £19 for adults and £12.50 for children aged 3-16, with most off-peak tickets available after 7pm. Funds raised from ticket sales help to preserve the majesty and history of Dunham Massey itself.
Georgina Lofthouse, General Manager of Dunham Massey, said: “Every ticket sold supports the National Trust to look after this special place for everyone to enjoy, from caring for the roaming fallow deer to ensuring the longevity of the historic collection in the house.”
New features include Herbum by TILT, a large-scale sculpture that evokes a tuft of wild glowing grass with its red and green strands and vibrant blue tips flaring up like a volcanic eruption. Another new installation which is proving hugely popular is Mycelium Network, by Stevie Thompson of Custom Fibre Optics.
Other illuminations include three innovations from UK-based technical and creative studio ArtAV – Pixel Banners, Star Arch Walk and Pixel Tree. Discover Studio Vertigo’s huge silver star, Nova, shrouded in mist as if just fallen from the sky; and Aether and Hemera’s Voyage, a flotilla of hundreds of colour-changing, floating origami folded boats.
Christmas at Dunham Massey is full of seasonal surprises and shimmering reflections that cast light on beautiful silhouettes of majestic trees, all choreographed to a soundtrack of festive favourites. There will also be a magical glimpse of Father Christmas along the way.
Along the trail, independent street food vendors bring a delicious twist with tasty treats on offer. Complete your walk under the stars with a *spiced winter warmer or hot chocolate shared with friends and family.
Everyone loves toasting a marshmallow over an open fire and the artisan *marshmallow stall gives visitors the chance to warm their hands and enjoy this sweet outdoor tradition.
