Victoria Baths Presents Ríoghnach Connolly and Honeyfeet

Victoria Baths is getting its spring events programme off to a fantastic start with the chance to indulge in the sublime vocals of Ríoghnach Connolly in the building’s beautiful Grade II* listed setting. Victoria Baths Presents Ríoghnach Connolly and Honeyfeet takes place on Saturday 15 April (7pm to 11pm) in a night that will get your foot tapping and your soul smiling!

The intimate setting of Victoria Baths is the fitting location for a band that has gathered a momentum of adoration from fans and music critics alike. Ríoghnach is the current BBC Radio 2 Folk Singer of the Year and the blend of sound created with her companion players, Honeyfeet, takes in everything from protest song influences to dance rhythms resulting in a unique kind of musical poetry. Their appearance at Victoria Baths follows the recent release of their latest album, It’s Been A While, Buddy.

Manchester based Honeyfeet is made up of Lorien Garth Edwards, bass; Ellis Davies, guitar; John Ellis, keyboards; Biff Roxby, brass; and Phil Howley, drums. Their music spans everything from big-band swing to Alabama blues-tinged folk, all held together by the powerful vocals and flute from Ríoghnach.

Making the perfect pairing, the evening will begin with a set from another favourite on the festival circuit that also calls Manchester home: the Galivantes. You couldn’t pigeon-hole this eight piece ensemble if you tried, other than to say that the entertainment factor will be high! Music that blends ska-punk, reggae, disco, folk and rock influences and is likely to leave you wanting to dance.

Food and drink will be flowing, thanks to street food favourites Honest Crust Sourdough Pizza and Dim Sum Su (think mouth-watering bao buns and more), plus the Victoria Baths Bar (serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks).

Victoria Baths Presents Ríoghnach Connolly and Honeyfeet is part of SpringFest 2023, tickets are £20 (plus booking fee) and can be booked here. This is an over 18s event. Doors will open at 7pm and close at 11pm. All proceeds help to support the work of Victoria Baths Trust, which oversees the upkeep of the Grade II* listed building and ensures that it remains open as a cultural venue and community resource.
