UK Vet Group Honoured for Supporting Life-Saving Work Tackling Rabies in Thailand

WVS honours DNA Vetcare’s vital support with a hospital ward named after Director Dane Walker.

In a powerful tribute to over a decade of unwavering support, the Worldwide Veterinary Service (WVS) has named a ward in its newly opened hospital in northern Thailand after Dane Walker, Director and Co-Founder of UK-based DNA Vetcare.
The dedication recognises Dane’s and DNA Vetcare’s steadfast commitment to WVS’s life-saving work, particularly through its Mission Rabies campaign.

WVS, an international leader in animal welfare, unveiled the new state-of-the-art veterinary hospital in Chiang Mai during a visit by Dane and his team, marking a new milestone in the organisation’s mission to combat rabies and improve animal welfare worldwide.
The tribute reflects more than 14 years of hands-on charity work and fundraising by Dane and the DNA Vetcare team in support of WVS initiatives, including the Care for Dogs programme and the global Mission Rabies campaign.
DNA Vetcare has proudly supported WVS since 2011, aligning with the charity’s vision of a safer, kinder world for both animals and humans.

“WVS and Mission Rabies are doing extraordinary, world-changing work. For our team to be recognised in this way is deeply humbling, and we are honoured to play a small part in their global mission,” said Dane Walker. “This is really a celebration of the dedicated teams on the ground: they are the heroes we’re proud to support.”

Through collaborative fundraising and public awareness efforts, DNA Vetcare has contributed to impactful projects around the world.
In India, DNA helped support WVS in vaccinating over 26,000 dogs, and in Cambodia, over 100,000 dogs in a single week – huge strides in the global fight against rabies, which still claims the lives of around 59,000 people each year, many of them children.

With the backing of clients and clinics across the UK, DNA Vetcare also supports leading animal charity Jai Dog Rescue. Based near Bangkok, Thailand, this organisation plays a vital role in rescuing street dogs through its CNVR (Capture, Neuter, Vaccinate, and Release) programme. In addition to its on-the-ground work, Jai Dog Rescue also helps to find loving homes for many of these dogs, both locally and internationally.
At selected DNA Vetcare clinics, a portion of each consultation goes directly to charitable causes, ensuring that everyday pet care in the UK can extend a lifeline to animals in need globally. This reflects the company’s belief in supporting sustainable, community-led initiatives that make a measurable difference.

“We’re not trying to reinvent the wheel – just help to assist where we can,” Dane added. “WVS has an amazing vision, culture and reach. It’s our privilege to help fuel that mission and amplify the incredible work they’re already doing.”

DNA Vetcare remains in active discussions with its charity partners to expand support for future initiatives, proving that even a local veterinary group can contribute to a global network of compassion and care.
