Tullamore D.E.W. to create the The World’s Smallest(ish) Irish Pub this St Patrick’s Day
At a time when celebrations can’t be big (and must be COVID-compliant), Tullamore D.E.W. is going small and have launched The World’s Smallest(ish) Irish pub, inviting everyone to raise a glass and join together virtually, bringing to life a blend of Irish pub culture. Fondly named ‘The D.E.W. Drop Inn’, the specially built snug is open for (virtual) business until this Sunday 21st March and is small enough to fit in a garden, spaces we’ve come accustomed to spending time in over the last year.
With everyone continuing to stay safe at home, the traditional Tully local from the original triple blend Irish Whiskey has been created – a nod to the rise of the pandemic’s ‘super sheds’ – inviting people from across the UK to sing, share toasts, share a Tully and enjoy good craic* together.
From here, virtual visitors are able to curate their own experience across tunes, comedy, toasts and cocktails; from sharing an Irish toast with a friend from afar and delicious cocktails, to a choice of ‘live’ creative entertainment.
Guests are greeted by UK Brand Ambassador (and Irishman) Conor Friel, before embarking on their personalised St Patrick’s Day ‘night out’, making their own way through the events on offer including:
- Tunes: Irish singer Carrie Baxter will help to get virtual visitors into the St Patrick’s Day spirit in a classic Irish singalong fashion. Participation is encouraged, whether you’re arm in arm with those you live with or plan to go solo in the (virtual) spotlight.
- Comedy: Bringing the unique Irish craic directly to your home, expect knee-slapping musings from Irish comedian Alison Spittle.
- Toast: choose one of three toasts from Kevin Pigott (Global Culture & Distillery Ambassador) and share a Tully with friends from afar via social where, in true Irish style, glasses are raised to the greenest day of the year as we all look ahead to better things to come.
- Cocktails: Conor Friel will lead a guided cocktail masterclass session, showcasing how to make three different cocktails; from the simple ‘Tully & Tonic’ serve, to the skill-testing and tasty ‘Mickey Rivers’, and finally the advanced and Conor-original ‘Emerald Sour’.
For those who particularly enjoy the sound of the Mickey Rivers cocktail and would rather have the cocktail pre-made and delivered to your door, London bar Happiness Forgets is launching a UK-wide cocktail delivery service. The Mickey Rivers cocktail will be available to purchase until the end of March at https://www.happinessforgets.com/products/mickey-rivers
Speaking ahead of the event, Conor Friel says:
“Whilst people aren’t able to visit their favourite pubs and be with friends this St Patrick’s Day, we wanted to bring that classic Irish pub experience directly to homes, part of our mission to champion the power of the blend in whiskey, culture and society.
“This year’s St Patrick’s Day celebrations will be about sharing a Tully, looking forward and getting excited for when we can all be enjoying time together in real pubs once again.”
The World’s Smallest(ish) Pub – ‘The D.E.W. Drop Inn’ – will be available to access from March 11th until the weekend of St Patrick’s Day via the Tullamore D.E.W website: https://www.tullamoredew.com/en-gb/worlds-smallest-ish-pub/
