Air fryers have seen a huge boom in popularity recently. Sales are through the roof, and you only have to look at Instagram and Tiktok to see the wide range of air fryer content that is being created.

According to online marketplace OnBuy.com, sales of some air fryers have skyrocketed up to a whopping 800% in the last few weeks.

Their popularity can partly be attributed to the cost of living crisis. With energy bills skyrocketing, air fryers represent a cheaper and energy efficient alternative to ovens and traditional deep fat fryers.

In August, regulator Ofgem announced from October they would be raising the energy price cap by 80%. And while New Prime Minister Liz Truss confirmed she would be capping energy bills at £2,500 annually, the rise will still hit Brits’ pockets.

Air Fryers are also often considered a healthier option than the alternatives, as they use less oil compared to deep fat fryers – sparking a social media surge of users sharing nutritious recipes.
