Theta Global Advisors announces new Manchester office as business infrastructure helps levelling up agenda
Theta Global Advisors – a consultancy and accounting disruptor – today announce the opening of a new regional office in Manchester, a key part of expansion plans which also include a number of new hires operating in the North West of England. The new office will work alongside staff in the existing office based in West London offering a local service to a growing population of innovative and fast growing businesses in the North-West.
The move comes at a vital time for a region with a strong entrepreneurial ambition, with over 43,000 businesses founded in the region in 2020/21, a 19% increase on the year before. The North West is also home to six of the UK’s 14 digital Unicorns, demonstrating the vital need for the kind of infrastructure that a growing business, with IPO or M&A in its sights, has for world leading accounting and financial advisory services, which will be key to long-term scale and success.
The firm – founded in 2016 by Chris Biggs, after work at KPMG, the World Bank and as a Director at PwC – is in a period of rapid growth itself, helping businesses with M&As, IPOs and other deals by providing a tailored approach and a real alternative to the dominance of the traditional Big 4.
Theta’s specialisms reside across: M&A and IPO deal support, IFRS and UK GAAP and general complex accounting and financial reporting matters (including financial instruments, structuring, credit, hedging, revenue recognition, leases, and business combinations).
This move comes just two months after joining GGI Global Alliance which provided the firm with the industry recognition of its growth and credibility in work thus far, enhancing its ability to build on global and cross border expertise as part of its next phase of growth. Theta’s role in the GGI’s ranks leads the charge for smaller and mid-size firms to receive acknowledgment in improving standards and the democratisation of financial reporting.
Chris Biggs, partner at consultancy and accounting disruptor Theta Global Advisors comments:
“Myself and the entire team at Theta are incredibly excited to be opening this new office in Manchester, which will be a big step in our growth and expansion. Since founding Theta I have always wanted to do things a bit differently from my previous experience in the sector so it is incredibly satisfying to see this growth which is, of course, reliant on the fantastic team we have.
“This move will also provide world leading expertise to the ever growing ecosystem of businesses in the region which previously has been focused on London. Having this on the door step will be a key step to helping growing firms ensure they are ready for the next challenge, be that IPO, raising finance or acquisition.
“We have found tremendous success over the past six years in not only providing an effective and valuable service for our clients in a range of sectors but also by taking care to make sure that everyone who works at Theta is supported in flexible working options wherever possible. “
