The Swinging Sixties returns to Bolton with Twist and Shout
The show invites music lovers to return to a time when skirts got shorter and hair got longer as a West End cast revive the hits of The Beatles, Herman’s Hermits, Gerry and the Pacemakers, The Rolling Stones, Cilla Black, Manfred Mann, Dusty Springfield, Lulu, Sandy Shaw and many more.
Show promoter David Halford of Artistes International Management says that the musical powerhouse of a show begins with the explosion of Brit Pop in 1962, taking audiences through to the era of Flower Power and Free Love of the late Sixties.
“Featuring incredible performances and beautiful bespoke costumes,” he says, “Twist and Shout will transport you back to the sights and sounds of the Swinging Sixties.”
“The non-stop feast of music features a live band and West End performers who deliver hit after hit including She Loves You, Glad All Over, You’re My World, Jumpin’ Jack Flash, Something Tells Me I’m In to Something Good, Shout, Mr Tambourine Man, Ferry Cross The Mersey and so many more.”
Forty songs are packed into this lavish production which promises to “get you on your feet and leave you dancing in the aisles”.
“It’s often been said that if you remember the Sixties you really weren’t there,” smiles David. “Twist and Shout affords the opportunity to discover just what you missed!”
The show starts 7.30pm, on Saturday, 9 March and tickets are £23.75 available from Quay Tickets by calling 0843 2080 500, Bolton Central Library every Saturday between 9am-5pm or online.
