THE ENEMY will be bringing their anthem-filled live show to this Summer’s Blackpool Live season.

Presented by Scruff of the Neck, this brand new live music series will be bringing some of the nation’s best loved alternative acts to Blackpool’s iconic Winter Gardens.

With a songwriting canon chock-full of anthemic, generation defining indie rock tunes: The Enemy will make their Blackpool Live debut on Friday 28 August. Support will come from USA indie favourites We Are Scientists, plus alternative UK scene risers Alex Spencer and Shambolics.

Young gunslingers from the British Midlands, The Enemy emerged in the 00s indie scene with bags of energy – bringing together the potent swagger of Oasis with the nervy passion and relatable social commentary of the Jam. Quickly becoming one of the U.K.’s most talked about new bands, in 2007 on they released a succession of surefire hit singles in the Top 10 “Away From Here” and “Had Enough”, paving the way for their Platinum-certified #1 debut ‘We’ll Live And Die In These Towns’. After some time away, a new era in The Enemy started with a reunion of their original and only line-up in 2022 with bassist Andy Hopkins and drummer Liam Watts. Back with a rave-received new album ‘Social Disguises’ last year (their first in over a decade) the band have proven their enduring popularity. With a massive show celebrating 20 years of their iconic debut album at the 10,000 capacity Coventry Building Society Arena slated for next year – catch them back and bigger than ever at Blackpool this Summer.

Fellow stalwarts of the scene, albeit hailing from across the pond, are NYC-based tearaways We Are Scientists, who will be supporting at Blackpool for the evening. We Are Scientists first made their mark in the U.K. in 2005, shortly before the release of their gold-selling debut ‘With Love & Squalor’, an album that has since become a cornerstone of the indie rock scene. Over the years since, the band has released nine studio albums, including their latest critically praised record ‘Qualifying Miles’, and released a litany of classic tracks like “Nobody Moves, Nobody Gets Hurt”, “After Hours”, “It’s A Hit” and others. With a unique stage chemistry that continues to shine and countless classics to draw on, get down early for a seminal support slot in the hands of messrs Keith Murray and Chris Cain.

Earlier in the day, don’t miss a vital opportunity to catch next-big-things Alex Spencer and Shambolics, as they open-up proceedings with unmissable preceding sets.
