STAFFORD PUPIL HELPS HOMEBUILDER SPREAD FESTIVE CHEER WITH CHRISTMAS CARDS
A creative pupil at Doxey Primary School in Stafford has won a Christmas card competition to spread the Christmas spirit to members of the community at David Wilson Homes’ development, The Lapwings.
The competition organised by the leading homebuilder was to design a Christmas card which would then be delivered to the first few residents at the housebuilder’s development on Martin Drive.
After a range of creative designs were submitted, it was Elsiee Penwright-Smith from Year 3 who was crowned the winner and awarded an art set by David Wilson Homes to foster her artistic ability. She has also been gifted a selection of her cards to give to her family and friends.
Allyson Sinclair, Deputy Headteacher at Doxey Primary School, said: “The pupils were thrilled to be asked to design the Christmas card and we had lots of fantastic designs. The children can see the building work taking place, so it’s been a real benefit to us to create a link with David Wilson Homes.”
Further to the card competition David Wilson Homes also donated the funds required for Doxey Primary School to buy a 15-foot Christmas tree which, once installed, sparked excitement among the pupils as they looked forward to the festive season.
Georgina Hall, Sales Manager at David Wilson Homes Mercia, said: “It was a pleasure to team up with Doxey Primary School to create these wonderful Christmas cards.
“We’d like to thank all the children who took part in the competition for their entries and we hope Elsiee will take great pride in knowing she has helped spread festive cheer in the local community.”
