SONS OF THE EAST

EUROPEAN LIVE DATES 2022

+NEW ALBUM: ‘PALOMAR PARADE’
OUT 23 SEPTEMBER

Australian three-piece SONS OF THE EAST have announced a run of UK and Ireland live dates this August/September.

The band are also gearing up to release their new album ‘Palomar Parade’, arriving on 23 September.

After growing up on the northern beaches of Sydney and forging a friendship in childhood, the indie-folk trio are an under-the-radar success story. Having built an international following with their exceptional original songs, irresistible vocals and a little bit of luck, Sons of the East are gearing up to release their first full-length LP.

Making waves with their releases “You Might Think”, “On My Way” and most recently “What I Do” — a soulful and energetic tune that features a driving rhythmic section, soaring harmonica and trademark Sons of the East harmonies — the album is a testament to the band’s tight musicianship and proof of their ability to write beyond the bounds of genre.

Having racked up more than 180 million streams on Spotify, 15 million streams on Apple Music and 45 million YouTube plays from around the world, the band are set to take their music to a global audience in 2022. Fresh off of the back of a stretch of European festival slots at the likes of Boardmasters, Colours of Ostrava (Czech Republic), Pangea(Germany) and Willitsch Saund (Austria), the band are now ready to embark on a UK and Ireland tour this August/September.

Speaking of their excitement to play live for fans internationally, guitar and banjoist Dan Wallage says:

“From when we would play at the local pub to now, there is still a level of excitement and a smile that you can’t take off your face, no matter where we’re playing. As soon as we get on stage it’s like we’re little kids again, and that for me hasn’t changed at all.”

Sons of the East are childhood friends Jack Rollins (vocals/guitar), Nic Johnston (vocals/keys) and Dan Wallage (guitar banjo). As their school years came to a close they all signed up for a study camp, where they spent their downtime singing and playing together. A short year later they decided to recapture that musical energy, leading them to a regular Thursday night gig in a local pub.

2013 then proved to be a breakout moment for the band, when their music video for “Hold On” landed on an influential blog. Sons of the East pulled in hundreds of fans in cities they had never even played, and by 2019 they had toured Europe three times drawing in more listeners as they went. With an undeniable charisma that pulls fans back to see them again and again, Jack Rollins explains:

“When you first start you don’t really expect anything. You just put stuff out there and see how it goes. We have been slow in our output, but if I can say so myself what we have put out has been pretty good and people have resonated with that over the years. We’ve tried to stay true to ourselves and to the music that we like to write and play.”
