Social Care CEO: Working Conditions Need Improving Now
The truth is social care reform has been delayed for years and social care is structurally underfunded, despite flagship reform campaigns by the government. In the current economic context, there’s little sign of change in the near future. But, the way forward is to reform health and social care together. Rather than calling for funding, we must unlock new ways to drive savings by moving towards preventive healthcare, particularly with regards to at-home care. Thanks to the latest technology developments, capable of collecting and analysing data to form predictions around a person’s ever changing care needs, preventive healthcare will lead to considerable savings and significantly improve population health.
Preventative healthcare would also enhance the care professionals role, who are the ears and the eyes of our clinicians in the field. They can be better empowered with the tools they need to not only do their job more effectively and cost efficiently, but to fundamentally transform the health and care experience of patients thanks to data analysis and earlier interventions.
In short, we want to see plans for better working conditions to decrease the brain drain of the adult care sector.
