SEA LIFE Manchester is excited to announce that its highly-anticipated ‘After Hours with the Mermaids’ event is arriving on Friday 27th and Saturday 28th August once again, although this time there is a twist.

SEA LIFE is proud to present the UK’s first ever aquarium performance from mermen. Taking a dip in the waters of SEA LIFE Manchester, the mermen will make their UK debut this month, alongside the magical mermaids.

Greek merman John is leaving behind the tranquil blue seas of the Mediterranean to put on a performance for the lucky visitors at SEA LIFE. From a young age John has loved the sea and the magic and mystery that it holds within, so naturally, he wanted to share this underwater enchantment with others so they too can enjoy the wonders of the ocean.

John will be performing on the Friday night only and he will be joined inside the tank by Merman Oliver, who will also perform on the Saturday evening. Making a splash, Oliver has taken his dancing skills under the sea and is excited to perform on the subaquatic stage at SEA LIFE Manchester.

Whilst most people may think merpeople are the stuff of legend, with the help of Performance Mermaids, SEA LIFE Manchester will prove to little ones that this is not the case! Taking the sea-crets of the deep ocean and sharing with the audience, the mermaids and mermen will put on a stunning show of underwater magic for all the family to enjoy.

Merman Oliver – who will be performing on each night – said: “I’m very excited to be making a splash at SEA LIFE by performing as a professional merman. Since a young age I have been fascinated with this enticing underwater world and being a professional dancer for over 7 years; this was a perfect opportunity for the two elements to collide! It’s a passion of mine to inspire people and spread positivity through performing, so I hope that guests will get the same thrill out of it as I do.”

Mermister John said, “Being a merman is not only about keeping the magic alive and giving a unique experience to children of all ages, but also to inspire all the boys who may hide a little merman inside them. Merfolk, just like humans, come in all genders, colours shapes and sizes. Let’s dive into the magic world of the beautiful sea creatures”.
