Freya is a girl’s name originating from the Norwegian meaning, a “Noble Woman” and the name of the Norse Goddess of love, beauty and fertility. It ranks as the most popular girl’s name inspired by Valentine’s Day with 1,982 babies born in 2020. According to Nameberry, Freya has been one of the fastest-rising names, with popularity spiking in England and Wales. It is predicted that it will see a meteoric rise in future years.
Teddy, meaning “gift of God” placed as the second most popular Valentine’s inspired baby name in the UK. It is associated with Valentine’s Day with its relation to the popular gift of affection. The name ranked highly on ONS data for the number of children born in the UK with that name - a total of 1,627 in 2020.
Esme is a French name translating to “beloved” and is the third most popular baby girl’s name in the UK inspired by Valentine’s Day. 3,888 babies were born in 2020 with this name.
Coming in as the fourth most popular Valentine’s related baby name is Violet; a soft and sweet name, related to the flower. In 2020, 962 babies were born with this name. British actress Emily Blunt and her husband John Krasinski welcomed their daughter named Violet in June of 2020.
