Raymond Weil launches a brand new freelancer GMT Worldtimer
Swiss watchmaker RAYMOND WEIL is delighted to unveil its brand new freelancer GMT Worldtimer, capable of displaying the prevailing hour in 24 different time zones simultaneously. This new model possesses a beautifully crafted complexity while remaining remarkably slim, measuring only 40.5mm in diameter and 9.7mm in thickness.
The dial is equipped with a rotating track marked with one prominent city for each time zone. The city disk sits adjacent to a 24-hour scale, indicating the relevant hour in the location shown and whether it is day or night. Barrel-shaped hour and minute hands also indicate the local time which can be changed to reflect one’s whereabouts. In addition to displaying the wearer’s local time, the city disc simultaneously reveals the relevant hour for each of the remaining 23 time zones. A black GMT hand, featuring a prominent triangular red and white tip, also indicates the prevailing hour at home and a highly legible lollipop hand completes the set of hands. With hands and indexes treated with Super-Luminova, emitting either a blue or green glow depending on their functional role, readability at night is also ensured.
Located at the heart of the freelancer GMT Worldtimer is the new Calibre RW3230; a Swiss automatic self-winding movement with a power reserve of 50 hours which can be admired through the exhibition caseback. Measuring just 4.1mm in height, the modest thickness of the movement contributes to this timepiece’s elegant and slender profile.
The new freelancer GMT Worldtimer is available in either black or green gradient dial tones, each with a colour-coordinating calf leather strap with tone-on-tone stitching. The black dial version features a stainless steel case coated with black DLC providing an understated and sophisticated appearance, while the green is paired with a bronze bezel and crown, a stylish exemplar of military chic.
