By 9am, the team had intercepted a vehicle in the Stand Lane area. The two were subjected to a stop search under the Misuse of Drugs Act.
The driver was reported for driving without a licence and driving without insurance and will receive a summons to court. The vehicle was subsequently seized under the Road Traffic Act.
At lunchtime, we conducted a vehicle stop to clarify insurance cover. This resulted in a stop search under the Misuse of Drugs Act.
The driver was determined to have adequate insurance and continued their journey.
In the early afternoon, the team assisted Bury CID in the search for a vehicle containing a wanted male. He was arrested later the same day.
At approximately 2pm, officers made attempts to stop an electrically assisted pedal cycle on Coronation Road.
The bike failed to stop and rode dangerously. Officers made the decision to disengage following an area search.
Around an hour later, the driver of a white Suzuki Alto drew attention to himself on Bury Road due to his failure to wear a seat belt and his seating position.
Prior to any intervention, the vehicle made off from the team on Spring Lane. Following a short pursuit, the Suzuki collided with another vehicle and a wall on Bridgefield Street.
The driver made off and was subsequently detained following a short foot pursuit and arrested.
Within minutes, PCSOs were out on foot conducting house-to-house enquiries and retrieving CCTV, which was vital to the investigation.
The driver was charged with the following offences:
Four counts of disqualified driving
Driving without valid insurance
Dangerous driving
Fail to stop for a police officer
Failure to wear a seatbelt

“Road safety is a priority for our district and we want Bury to be a place where people are safe to be out and about in their cars.
“Today our Radcliffe Neighbourhood Team stopped a vehicle on the border of Radcliffe. The vehicle was suspected to be stolen and displaying incorrect registration plates.
“The vehicle was seized and the driver has been reported for the relevant offences.”
