Prime Day has the most discounts but is it the best time to buy?
New data from one of Europe’s leading price comparison sites idealo.co.uk reveals that Amazon Prime Day is the best money saving day for deals on over 800,000 products.
The study by analysts at idealo is one of the biggest of its kind, investigating price history data of 840,422 products from the past three years to find out if shoppers get the best deal on Amazon Prime Day, Cyber Monday or Black Friday.
Following the announcement of Amazon Prime Day 2021 taking place on 21st-22nd June, results show that in 54% of cases, Amazon Prime Day was the best time to get a deal. In particular, tech items were cheaper on this day such as games consoles, smartphones, laptops, smartwatches and wireless speakers.
In comparison, Black Friday was cheaper on 31% of occasions, and Cyber Monday 15%, making it the worst shopping event for getting a deal. Black Friday scored best for discounts out of the three events on more personal items such as running shoes, vibrators and food processors.
