Preston’s unholiest sons – Evil Blizzard – will return to Manchester for a climactic end-of-tour show in 2025.
Presenting an outlandish new live show, dubbed “The Great End of the Rotting Phase”, the Northwest’s premier morbid mob have slated-in a date at the city’s Academy 3 for Saturday 1st March.

’Rotting In The Belly Of The Whale’ (released on their own Crackedankles label), the band came back with their most furious, compelling and diverse album to date. They are already looking to the future and this show next March will mark the end of shows revolving around this excellent album release.
The album was much more representational of the band’s record collections: it retains the ‘Sabbath-meets PiL-meets Killing Joke’ sound found on the band’s earlier albums, but now encompasses dub, goth and electronica in it’s 8 tracks, with clear nods in the general direction of Sonic Youth, Jane’s Addiction, Leftfield and The Mission.

Earning praise from VIVE LE ROCK MAGAZINE, the record was hailed as ‘A tremendous piece of work [that] sounds like nothing else on earth’ (9/10), whereas LOUDER THAN WAR proudly called it ‘a masterpiece’.

Preston’s Evil Blizzard are truly an enigma. Multiple bass players (at one point eight of them) and an array of rubber masks that give both children and adults sleepless nights.

Landing on the cover of The Guardian, and gathering praise from everyone from The Quietus to Kerrang, the six-piece have won accolades and nervous glances wherever they go.

Evil Blizzard delve into many musical wells. Mixing their musical heritage from early Sabbath, Dub & krautrock through to more modern and diverse contemporaries such as Hawkwind, Public Image Ltd, The Mission and Killing Joke (all of whom personally asked for Evil Blizzard to support them).

Since ‘The Dangers Of Evil Blizzard’ was unleashed upon the world in 2013, their sonic grooves and unrelenting weirdness quickly captured the minds and imaginations of freaks across the land.

Subsequent albums ‘Everybody Come To Church’ and The Worst Show On Earth’ sold in their thousands, and gained new fans and audiences at home and abroad, including a sold out headline gig at the prestigious Preston Guild Hall.

Described as ‘the most ingenious and charismatic live experience on the music scene’, they celebrated lockdown with a vinyl release of ‘The Best Of Evil Blizzard’ – a completely blank piece of vinyl, which sold out immediately. They have recently released their critically acclaimed new album ‘Rotting In The Belly Of The Whale’ on their own Crackedankles Records label.

Evil Blizzard have not only won over some partisan crowds, but they have also gone on to conquer such music festivals as Supersonic, Milhoes (Portugal), Supernormal, Rebellion, the Manchester and Liverpool festivals of Psychedelia, Kendal Calling, and recent headline slots at Kozfest and Onboard the Craft.

The band continue to deliver ‘sinister psychedelic rock that will melt your mind and soul’ and a sensory obliterating live show. With recording of a brand new album already in the pipeline, miss their final show of their ‘Rotting In The Belly Of The Whale’ album tour at Manchester Academy 3 at your peril…. Support for the gig will come from Special Guests YAANG and VICE VERA. Genre-fluid Manchester trio YAANG have been taking the NW by storm of late with their intoxicating mix of electronic beats, hook-laden melodies and northern charm – a must see.
