Hollywood Bowl left no pin standing as it hosted a glitzy VIP event to celebrate the official opening of its new £2.8 million venue at the New Mersey Retail Park in Speke.

The new entertainment centre welcomed stylish British actress and star of Hollyoaks, Jennifer Metcalfe, who launched the centre with an official ribbon cutting moment before putting her own bowling skills to the test as she enjoyed a night out with her five-year-old son, Daye.

I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here runner-up, Owen Warner, was also seen getting into the competitive spirit scoring his way to the top of the leader board when he went head-to-head with friend and co-star, Ellis Hollins.

Also inaugurated on Hollywood Bowl Liverpool Speke’s own Walk of Fame was Olympic bronze medal winner, Beth Tweddle, British Paralympian, Jack Hunter-Spivey, and Taekwondo World Champion, Bianca Walkden, who rocked and bowled the night away.

After bowling over the competition at the star-studded event, Jennifer Metcalfe, said: “I adore bowling together as a family or with my friends. It’s a great way to settle a few scores – especially if you’re competitive like me! The new Hollywood Bowl centre in Speke has a great family atmosphere and is ideal for enjoying much needed fun.”

The new centre which features 16 state-of-the-art bowling lanes also offers guests American-style food and drinks which you can order to your lane via a QR code, including classics such as hot dogs, burgers, and shakes.

Guests who visit the £2.8 million family entertainment centre will also be able to strike it lucky in the amusement arcades, playing all time family favourites such as air hockey, racing driver and Space Invader games.
