New survey shows Website Features that put off Potential Customers and Cause Businesses to Lose Revenue

Brand Highlighters is a leading digital services partner for hundreds of UK businesses and has recently commissioned a survey to find out how potential customers and clients interact with business websites and what features turn them on and put them off buying or getting in touch. The main turnoff for potential clients and customers is a complicated signup or contact form and no clear email or phone number displayed on the website.

Over 70% stated not being able to easily find contact details would make the business come across as untrustworthy. Nearly half said poor-quality photos and bad grammar were major turn-offs and made them concerned about the credibility of the business. More than a third said a bad or dated design and lack of a user-friendly layout would also be an instant turn-off.

Other features that put potential customers and clients off included a lack of video content, slow loading time and if the site feels insecure and the firm doesn’t have a business listing on google.

Updating your website isn’t just a ‘nice to have’ anymore it is an essential business tool that reflects the credibility of the organisation, helps secure new customers and builds brand awareness both locally and nationally.
