MULL HISTORICAL SOCIETY – Announces MCR Show this Autumn

With a new album and novel just around the corner, MULL HISTORICAL SOCIETY AKA Colin Macintyre will be taking his latest works out on the road in 2026.

With the latest instalment of The Mull Mysteries crime fiction series imminent, ‘An Island Burning’, Colin is also readying the release of what will be his 10th studio album ‘In My Mind There’s A Photograph’, due for release on 29 May via the LNFG label.

Marking the releases in style, the Scottish creative is planning a series of innovative shows in honour of both, with the dates set to combine songs, stories, readings, audience Q&As, and special guest appearances.

Of the upcoming tour, Colin states:

“’The ‘Society’ part of my music identity has always been the most important bit for me, so I’m very excited about bringing songs from my new album, as well as many from my back catalogue, to audiences around the UK. I’ve been flat out in creative mode but the act of creativity to me is really embodied in community and connection. For these shows I’ll also be sharing stories and reading from my new Mull Mysteries novel, ‘An Island Burning’. The themes linking my two new releases reflect on war, childhood, place, identity, memory, family, survival — shining a light on hope, empathy and understanding — I hope just what we need in this fractured world. The concept of “home” in particular, and how it travels with us, always fascinates me, and I’m excited to bring my home island to society far and wide. Audiences can also expect a few featured authors and musicians as special guests, keep an eye out for further announcements!’”

With a short stretch of shows planned for June, including an unmissable launch at St Pancras Old Church in London, plus a string of Scottish shows including on the Isle of Mull; Colin will follow-up with a more extensive run of dates in September.
