Martha and Hepsie: The Sister Duo Behind the Vibrant Illustrations for Gift and Homeware Joins Gifts Instead of Flowers
Martha and Hepsie are two sisters who share a passion for design and creativity. They established their own illustration business in 2011, after working for several years in the design industry. Based in Sheffield and Devon, they design and sell their own collection of homeware, nursery decor, stationery and gifts, featuring vibrant and optimistic animal and botanical illustrations.
Their products are proudly designed in Sheffield and made in the UK, using the highest quality materials and the best UK manufacturers. They have worked on a number of exciting collaborations and wholesale projects, including bespoke designs for the Deputy Prime Minister, book cover designs for BOSH, a partnership with the British Skin Foundation and numerous private commissions. Their products have been sent across the world and have been featured in a selection of John Lewis stores as part of their ‘made locally’ initiative.
Martha and Hepsie value togetherness, authenticity, optimism and the colourful essence of being creative in everything they do. They aim to add joy to every day through their illustrations, and to bring British-made products back into the homes of their style-savvy customers.
Despite working from two different locations, Martha and Hepsie have an unique little set up that works for them. Martha is up north in the steel city of Sheffield, where she lives with her husband Duncan, sons Ernest and Morris, and her cat Tally. She also works as a freelance illustrator. Hepsie is based in the beautiful North Devon town of Barnstaple, where she lives with her husband Roy, two children Trudie and Wilf, and a ridiculous Wheaten Terrier called Terry. She also works as a marketing and business strategy consultant.
