Market Value of Manchester United’s Antony Skyrocketed by €50M in 2022; the Biggest Increase Among All Football Players

Plenty of football stars saw their market value surge this season after showing impressive performance and signing new contracts. However, one name stands out.

According to data presented by FairBettingSites.co.uk, Manchester United’s star Antony tops the list of biggest market value increases in the football world in 2022, as his valuation skyrocketed by an impressive €50 million in just six months.

Antony’s Market Value Jumped by 200% After Signing for The Red Devils

Former Ajax winger Antony became Manchester United’s fifth summer signing this year. In August, Brazilian signed a five-year contract with the option of an additional year, reuniting with his ex-Ajax boss Erik ten Hag, who already recruited defender Lisandro Martinez from his former club, and Tyrell Malacia from Feyenoord.

The Red Devils have shelled out a jaw-dropping transfer fee for the 22-year-old player, paying €95 million. Antony’s move to United set his market value to new record highs.

According to TransferMarkt data, in May last year, the Brazilian footballer was valued at €25 million. After proving himself as one of the biggest young talents in European football, his market value jumped by 40%, reaching €35 million in June 2022. However, after signing for the Red Devils, Antony’s valuation skyrocketed by 200% and hit €75million in September.

Aurélien Tchouameni and Darwin Núñez Follow with a €40M and €38M Increase

Statistics show Aurélien Tchouameni follows Antony with the second-largest market value increase this year. In June, the French midfielder signed a six-year contract with Real Madrid, leaving AS Monaco after two years. The Champions League winners have agreed to pay a transfer fee of around €80 million to sign Tchouameni after seeing off competition from European rivals to land the player.

In January, the 22-year-old player was valued at €40 million. However, his valuation doubled and hit €80 million after signing a new contract.

Darwin Núñez has seen the third-largest market value increase in 2022. Liverpool has completed the signing of the 23-year-old player from Benfica for a club-record fee of almost €100 million, with the Uruguay striker signing a six-year contract. In November, his market value hit €70 million, showing a €38 million increase in less than a year.

Luis Díaz and Rafael Leão round the top five list, with a €35 million market value increase each. Statistics show the combined market value of these five players surged by nearly €200 million this year.
