Manchester Super Giants are preparing for a huge final home fixture of The Hundred tomorrow (11 August), with local rivals SunRisers Leeds heading to Emirates Old Trafford Cricket Ground for a blockbuster ‘Winner Takes All Derby Day’ across both the women’s and men’s competitions.

With qualification hopes on the line, the Super Giants will be looking to make home advantage count one last time this summer as they face their rivals in front of what is expected to be another big Manchester crowd.

The women’s teams get the action underway at 2.45pm, before the men’s derby takes centre stage from 6.30pm. And, with Rudimental performing live at Emirates Old Trafford Cricket Ground, in addition to local indie artist Alex Spencer, between the women’s and men’s matches, supporters have even more reason to make a full day of it.

Super Giants men’s fast bowler Josh Tongue is hoping the home crowd can provide one final boost: “The support we’ve had at Emirates Old Trafford this summer has been amazing, and the atmosphere has been brilliant every time we’ve played here. To have one final home game and a derby with so much on the line is exactly the kind of game you want to be involved in. We’ll give everything we’ve got and hopefully we can finish with a win in front of our fans and reach the knockout stages.”

Super Giants women’s spin bowler Sophie Ecclestone added: “It’s been fantastic to see the support we’ve had at Emirates Old Trafford throughout the summer. The fans have really got behind us and made it a brilliant place to play. A derby is always a special occasion, and with everything still to play for, we’re all looking forward to one final push.”

With a huge derby, live music from Rudimental, Alex Spencer and a final chance to see the Super Giants on home soil this summer, Winner Takes All Derby Day promises to be one of the standout occasions of The Hundred campaign.
