Manchester students enjoy food packages with a bit of Caribbean ‘flava’
Students at the University of Manchester and Manchester Metropolitan University had the chance to get a taste of a Caribbean Christmas this week when a new street food brand dropped off boxes of their new food range at halls of residence giving the chance for students to add some Caribbean island ‘flava’ to their festive food this Christmas.
Some 4,000 Irie Eats food packages were delivered to students this week, who were thrilled to receive them.
The Irie Eats Authentic Caribbean Street-Food range features five different authentic Caribbean meals, from Caribbean Curry to Spicy Jerk Wrap Kits with different degrees of spiciness, as well as a side dish of Rice and Peas. The meal kits are easy to make in under 25 minutes with authentic ingredients, such as the signature jerk seasoning sourced from trusted Jamaican growers.
Giuseppe Vullo, Brand Manager for Grace Foods UK, said: “Students across the country have had a really tough 21 months with the pandemic really impacting on their lives, bringing disruption to their studies as well as effecting their ability to get jobs and earn money to support themselves through their time at university. We wanted to do our bit to brighten up their day and bring a bit of Caribbean island flava to their Christmas celebrations.
“The students at the University of Manchester and Manchester Metropolitan University were over the moon to receive these food parcels from Irie Eats.
