Manchester Strike
since the 6th of December 2022, In front of the Manchester Islamic Centre. The centre is one of the branches of the Islamic Centre of England set up by the Islamic Republic regime, and the protesters are demanding the UK government to shut down the centre, seize their assets and expel its organisational leads.
The protesters have been in front of the centre day and night non-stop, in freezing conditions, under intense physical and psychological pressure, and without any facilities. Recently they were forced by the council to remove their tent in which they have been staying the nights in whilst protesting. So far they have received no attention or meaningful answer from the government.
The movement was prompted by the murder of a 22-year old women, Mahsa Amini, by Iran’s Morality Police, which sparked widespread protests inside and outside of Iran to end the Islamic regime and build a free, democratic Iran. The regime responded with brutal violence, killing more than 400 people so far including over 50 children, over 17000 arrests, torture, rape and internet shutdown. It is high time that the media also joined this movement and became the voice of the Iranian people.
“Women, Life, Freedom” is the symbol used by Iranian protests.
