Manchester City Council has been named one of the best organisations to work for in 2020 by national newspaper, The Sunday Times.

Last week (February 19) it was revealed which companies had made it on to this year’s Sunday Times Best 100 Best Not-For-Profit Organisations to Work For.

Entering the top 100 for the first time ever at rank 98, the award was accepted by members of the Council’s senior management team including Chief Executive Joanne Roney and Executive Member for Finance and Human Resources Cllr Carl Ollerhead.

A rare accolade for local authorities, Manchester City Council is the only authority to be featured on this year’s list.

The Council is crucial to shaping the lives of thousands of people who live in the city, and it is testament to the dedication of every single employee that the Council has been recognised in this way. This accolade marks a high point for the organisation which has striven to become a world-leading local authority, with the annual B-Heard survey of thousands of council employees having shown consistent year on year improvement across the Council.
